The election process of December 17 in Serbia revealed a wide-ranging problem of manipulation of the election process, such as vote buying, pressure on the public administration, mismanagement of public resources, transportation of voters from Bosnia-Herzegovina and Kosovo, the influence of President Vucic in the election, etc. These negative phenomena in the electoral process were also present in the past elections, but international observers have silently certified them, participating, according to foreign analysts, in the undeserved legitimacy of an autocratic power and an illiberal regime in Serbia. The need to keep Serbia close to the EU Hungary Phone Number List and the West, as well as for the sake of the so-called Balkan stabilocracy, the West has seen with indifference the repeated demands of the opposition for state capture, control of the free media by the regime and the increase of autocratic power in the country . Albania under the regime of Edi Rama is in an even more critical situation for the electoral process, where the right to choose is manipulated not only by the power and violence he produces with the patronageists, the pressure on the civil administration, the buying of votes but also the threat that comes from criminal organizations (the case of Bajra in Shkodër), which are privileged or seek favors from the government. Although these phenomena have been noticed in Albania, as in the elections of v. 2017 (files 184, 339), in the elections of 2021 and those of May 2023, the reaction of the international community has been lukewarm and without attitudes. Fragile Balkan democracy seems to have been sacrificed in defense of the controversial autocratic figures Rama and Vučić, who offer themselves as agents of Balkan stability and have been accepted as such by the pressure of interest groups, naivety or indifference of the West. But while Vucic is treated in terms of a certain geopolitical solution for Europe, the treatment of Rama – a clientelistic and corrupt autocrat – as a necessary leader is ridiculous and unjustified by the West.
